Is it OK to slow English down to improve listening?

in The Doing English Blog

You want to improve your listening, but native English is too fast… should you slow it down?

Put simply, the way you learn should always match the way you’ll actually use English. So the problem with slowing something down is that it’s unrealistic, and although you’ll be able to understand your audio… you won’t be able to understand people in conversation. Which isn’t very helpful.
